๐Ÿ“… Calendar & Time

Days, weeks, clocks, and time calculations

๐Ÿ“† Days and weeks

There are 7 days in a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

To find what day it will be in N days, divide N by 7 and use the remainder.

Example ๐Ÿ“ Today is Wednesday. What day is it in 25 days?
25 รท 7 = 3 remainder 4
Count 4 days from Wednesday: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Answer: Sunday

๐Ÿ• Reading clocks

The hour hand (short) moves slowly. The minute hand (long) moves fast.

Tip: The minute hand always points to where you read the minutes. Divide by 5: hand at 1 = 5 min, hand at 2 = 10 min, hand at 3 = 15 min, etc.

โฑ๏ธ Time calculations

To find how long between two times, count the hours then the minutes.

Example ๐Ÿ“ From 9:45 to 11:20. How long?
9:45 to 11:00 = 1 hour 15 minutes
11:00 to 11:20 = 20 minutes
Total: 1 hour 35 minutes = 95 minutes

Quick trick: If the end time has fewer minutes than the start, borrow 1 hour (60 minutes) from the hours.

Example: 3:15 to 4:50: You have 4 hours 50 minutes and 3 hours 15 minutes. Minutes: 50 - 15 = 35. Hours: 4 - 3 = 1. Answer: 1 hour 35 minutes.

๐Ÿ“… Months and dates

Some months have 30 days, some 31, and February has 28 (or 29 in a leap year).

Days per month (in order): 31, 28/29, 31, 30, 31, 30, 31, 31, 30, 31, 30, 31

The knuckle trick ๐Ÿ‘Š Make a fist. Start at your pinky knuckle (January = 31 days). Skip the valley between fingers (31-day month). Next knuckle (March = 31). Skip valley (30-day month). This pattern shows you which months have 31 and which have 30. February is the odd one.
