Sharing 12 sweets equally among 3 friends: give 1 to each person in turn until they're gone. Each gets 12 ÷ 3 = 4. If there's a remainder, that's what's left over!

⚖️ Balance puzzles
If a seesaw balances, both sides weigh the same. If one side has 2 apples and the other has 1 apple + something, that something must weigh the same as 1 apple.

One side has 3 oranges. The other side has 2 oranges + 1 banana. The seesaw is balanced. How heavy is the banana?
🔄 Working backwards
If you know the total and one part, subtract to find the other. 15 fruits total, 9 are apples → 15 - 9 = 6 oranges.
Count what's left 🍊
You have 10 toys total. 6 are cars. The rest are dolls. How many dolls? 10 - 6 = 4 dolls!
